आजच हा लेख वाचनात आला.(actually ’वाचला’ अस लिहिल असतं तरी चाललं असतं, पण उगाच... ) माणला जगायला काय लागतं किंवा what is the bare minimum that is required याच उत्तर द्यायचा प्रयत्न...

Too scarce to occupy an atom,
Tuka is vast as the sky.
I swallowed my death, gave up the corpse,
I gave up the world of fantasy.
I have dissolved God, the self, and the world
To become one luminous being.
Says Tuka, now I remain
Only to oblige.

यावर काय बोलणार... शब्दच संपले...

A few Good Men

Two soldiers inadvertently kill one of their fellows. It’s an open and shut case in hands of a lawyer who specializes in plea bargains. Up against him is a man high in stature, the one who will not compromise his honour for anything. They are involved in one of the most riveting courtroom dramas, A few Good Men.
Directed by Rob Reiner, the film is based on a play by the same name, written by Aaron Sorkin. The story revolves around the murder trial of 2 marines in the US base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. Their attorney is a young, bright lawyer Lieutenant Dan Kaffee played by Tom Cruise. He along with his co-counsel Cmdr. Galloway, played by stunningly beautiful Demi Moore, is trying to unearth the truth. The marines, Harold Dawson and Louden Downing, ordered by their superiors, were ragging a snitch in their platoon. The guy dies accidently and the two are charged with man slaughter. Kaffee and Galloway must fight with all their might against a rising star in the US army. They must put their careers on line to get justice for their clients who themselves are least co-operative.
Dan Kaffee is a seemingly superficial but brilliant litigator. His initial tussles with sincere, meticulous Cmdr Galloway add a bit of humour to the movie.
Based on quite controversial subject, the movie is very well directed. Due credit must be given to the writers for the work they must have put in for the dialogs. Demi Moore and Tom Cruise give good performances. However, it’s Jack Nicholson who takes away the cake with his stellar performance as Colonel Nathan Jessep. Featuring in only four scenes, Jack Nicholson’s cameo is like a twenty five ball half century which overshadows a run a ball century. In fact his legendary dialog “You can’t handle the truth!” is 29th in the list of 100 best quotes in American Cinema.
The movie addresses the ever burning issue of Army and human rights’ violations. Some people might find the ending of the movie quite unjust. In fact the deeper question here is whether a soldier has a right to choose which orders to follow or is he just to say “Sir Yes Sir!”?
(If you are interested in more court room dramas do give a try to 12 Angry Men, To Kill A Mockingbird, My Cousin Vinny, Primal Fear, Philadephia, Anatomy Of A Murder,Kaydyacha Bola (marathi))

Lalit Modi's foot in mouth disease continues. Read this. He said Ricky Ponting is pressurizing other players for pulling out from IPL because he was dropped from KKR. Well, that's a hopeless statement. One can not doubt Ricky Ponting's ability. As much as I hate Ponting, I can not help but admire his talent, temperament. His skills are extra ordinary. Performance in IPL is not at all a reflection of a player's abilities. I think Sachin, Kallis, Ponting, Dravid, Laxman are above the IPL or 20-20 in general. Some say a good player is good in all forms of the game. NO !! Tomorrow if Anil Kumble gets hammered in HongKong SuperSixes would you say he is not a good bowler. Shaun Pollock had a torrent time in IPL 1. He still was a quality bowler. But we all know why Mr. Modi and other BCCI officials are here for...

Well... no cricket fan will forget this day forever for history was written in Gwalior today. I just can not imagine what cricket would be like when Sachin will retire. I have never seen Indian cricket without Sachin. He has been playing since 1989 and I can not stretch my cricket memories before 1992. So he ( I should write 'He')has been around forever. Here are some other performances that will never be erased off my mind.

1. Sachin Tendulkar twin centuries in Sharjah in 1998.
2. VVS Laxman scoring 281 at eden gardens.
3. Ricky Ponting's 155 in '03 WC final (:()
4. Sachin's 98 against Pakistan in WC 03
5. Rahul Dravid scoring 233 at Adelaide in 03.
6. Saurav Ganguly scoring 144 at Gabba in '03.
7. Steve Waugh's partnership with Gillespi at Eden Gardens in 01.
8. Sachin's 155 against Pakistan at Chennai in '99.
9. Graeme Smith's 90 in Jo'Berg against Aus in that 434 match.
10. Saeed Anwar's 194 against India in Chennai.

Another question

Do other animals commit suicide? Can they commit suicide? I don't know. Interesting question... May be this is the difference between humans and other animals...

Damn... this is what I am thinking on valentine's day??? Gosh,,, I need a girlfriend...
